In a surprising turn of events, a judge has just denied a request from Ghislaine Maxwell, who was the former associate of Jeffrey Epstein, to ban the media and public from watching and recording the jury selection process for her trial.
The judge is essentially claiming that the world has the right to watch her jury selection process happen on camera.
According to the Washington Examiner, U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan has ruled to allow the press and public to be given access to her jury selection process via video. Additionally, two press reporters will be given access to the courtroom.
“We’re all aware that there’s been intense media and public interest in this case … These procedures will ensure the First Amendment rights to public access as is necessary and required by law,” Nathan said.
